Petra and Wadi Rum 2 days from Jerusalem Itinerary
Petra was inhabited by the Nabateans over 2000 years ago. They controlled all of the water in the area, and greatly prospered. It is said that they abandoned Petra after an earthquake destroyed their water cisterns, and it would have taken too much to rebuild them.
Wadi Rum is still inhabited by the Bedouins today, and the best way to tour Wadi Rum is by jeep. The amazing natural sandstone formations seem to pop out of the sand.
